What does SMS stand for?

Short Message Service. It is a standard feature of the GSM protocol (used by most mobile phone networks around the world), and allows messages of up to 160 characters to be sent to mobile phones.

What is the maximum length of an SMS message?

SMS messages may be up to 160 characters long.

Do you add any text to my messages?

No we do NOT add any text to your messages. Some companies add a ‘tag’ which advertises their company; this also eats in to the 160 character limit.

Is there a minimum monthly purchase required?

There is no minimum monthly usage. Simply purchase credits when you need more.

Do my credits expire?

No, your credits stay on your account for as long as it takes you to use them. If credits are on your account and remain unused for over a year, the value of your credits may go down if we’ve had a price increase.

Are there any hidden charges?

No, we are open about all our charges. One credit equals one message and monthly fees are only charged on certain products.

Can I send a text to a landline?

How many credits does it cost to send a text to a landline?

No matter where you send the text, 1 Message = 1 Credit.

Can I ask you for advice on putting together a campaign?

Absolutely, we are happy to offer free advice on getting the most from all our services.

Do I pay for failed messages?

Sadly, yes. If we send a message to the network for delivery you will be charged for it.

Why would a number fail?

There are many reasons for a number failing:

  • Incorrect number format (must be country code followed by number without leading zero or any spaces) – e.g. 447789123456
  • Receiving phone switched off
  • Receiving phone’s inbox full
  • Non-existent number
  • Receiving network overloaded or broken down

NB: GlobalMessaging can not be responsible for any of these possible reasons for failure. We will if possible investigate any failures.


How many mobile phone numbers can I send to in one send?

Unlimited but please let us know if you plan to send to more than 5K at a time.

Can I buy credits online?

How much does it cost to send a message?

The cost depends on how many you buy, or send within a month. See our ‘Pricing’ page.

Do you offer an auto top up service?

Yes and if you use it you may even be entitled to a discount.

Do you ever use the data on my account for third party advertising?

Absolutely 100% not. We pride ourselves on our discretion and professionalism at all times. We abide by all relevant rules and regulations. All data held within your account belongs to you and is for your sole use.

What is your refund policy?

GlobalMessaging customers have the right to cancel their order within 7 working days without giving a reason. The 7 days will start from when the credits are purchased. From cancellation, monies will be returned within 30 days of cancellation. to cancel an order, please write to us at Only complete orders can be refunded.
